Return to Hobby Den - Kachina Group

Though the eagle is considered the most important creature in Navajo culture and is commemorated in one of their most important dances in spring, the Eagle Kachina shown below is considered native American art, rather than a cultural object as seen in Pueblo culture.  This elaborately carved and feathered kachina captures the spirit of the eagle dancer as he imitates the graceful motions of the eagle in flight.
